Report: Biden Can End Migrant Crisis at Any Time

By    |   Sunday, 24 March 2024 10:14 PM EDT

President Joe Biden is weighing "harsh" executive actions for the border as the Nov. 5 general election approaches.

According to Axios, administration officials said the nuclear option is on the table pending any novel trends in a surge of migrants, and as trends in the data from U.S. Customs and Border Protection go, a surge in migrants is set to be the highest ever this summer. Since Biden took office, the number of migrants crossing the border has consistently increased every year.

The Biden administration is reported to be weighing the legal, logistical, and political consequences of such an endeavor.

"The bullet's in the chamber," one source close to the matter said.

Specifically, the orders being discussed would ban migrants from entering the United States illegally and would make it more difficult for individuals to pass the first interview in the asylum-seeking process.
