Univision Poll: Harris up 25 Points With Arizona Hispanics

By    |   Thursday, 22 August 2024 05:35 PM EDT

Vice President Kamala Harris leads former President Donald Trump by 25 percentage points among Arizona Hispanics according to a new poll released Thursday by Televisa/Univision/Media.

With immigration a key talking point at last night's Democratic National Convention, 59% of Hispanics in the critical battleground state of Arizona prefer Harris compared to 34% for Trump.

One upside for Trump was the poll found that 77% of Hispanic voters were enthusiastic about voting for him as their candidate, while 71% were enthusiastic about voting for Harris.

Despite the heavy support for the current vice president, only 33% of Arizona Hispanics said they feel the country is headed in the "right" direction. Voters in the survey cite the economy at 77%, and inflation and affordable housing at 72% as their primary concerns heading into this year’s election.

When asked if they could only pick one issue when deciding who to vote for, 23% chose abortion for the top spot, while immigration and the cost of living took up the second and third spots at 12% and 11% respectively.

The Arizona poll is virtually identical to where Trump stands nationally with Latino voters.  According to a national poll of Latino voters by the Hispanic Federation released this week, Harris leads Trump 59% to 35% among registered Latino voters.

The Televisa/Univision/Media poll was taken Aug. 1-8 among 721 Hispanic voters. The poll has a sampling error of +/- 3.7 percentage points.
