Vice President Kamala Harris has gained on former President Trump in four battleground states and now leads him by 1 point in those states, the latest Fox News poll found.
New statewide surveys in Arizona, Georgia, Nevada, and North Carolina show Harris up by 1 percentage point in Arizona and by 2 in Georgia and Nevada, while Trump leads in North Carolina by 1 point.
In an average of the four Sunbelt states, Harris is beating Trump by 1 point, 50% to 49%. All numbers are within the margin of error.
Previous Fox News polls showed President Joe Biden trailing in those states by 5 points or more.
Harris' momentum is driven largely by Black voters. The poll finds that Harris has 79% support to Trump's 19%. That said, the surveys show Trump has nearly tripled his support among Black voters from 2020 when he had just 7%.
Among Hispanic voters, 56% said they would vote for the vice president, versus 42% for Trump.
Trump's campaign slammed the poll: "It's that time of year again. Fox is releasing atrocious polling."
The campaign added that polling from the same time period in 2020 showed "Fox was off in North Carolina, Arizona, and Nevada from either 5.3% to 9.7%." The campaign stated that the only poll Fox did in Georgia in 2020 was released in June and overstated support for Joe Biden by 1.7%.
In an email, the campaign said: "President Trump continues to outperform polling from past cycles. President Trump is 10 points ahead of where he was in Arizona at this point in 2020, according to Fox. Likewise, he is running 8 points ahead of his 2020 polling in Nevada and 5 points ahead of his 2020 polling in North Carolina."
The Fox battleground polls surveyed 4,053 registered voters with a margin of error of plus or minus 3 percentage points for each individual state. The combined sample has a margin of error of plus or minus 1.5 percentage points.
