Senate GOP Super PACs Raise Record $85M

By    |   Tuesday, 08 July 2025 10:48 AM EDT

Senate Republicans have raised $85 million so far in 2025 through their super PACs — more than doubling their fundraising record for the first half of an off-election year, Axios reported Tuesday.

In its first fundraising release under the direction of Senate Majority Leader John Thune, R-S.D., the Senate Leadership Fund (SLF) has $29 million cash on hand, three times as much as it reported in 2023 and five times as much as in 2021, according to Axios.

SLF and affiliate group One Nation have more than $83 million cash on hand after a fundraising haul of $85 million that smashed the previous record of $38 million raised in 2023, according to the report.

SLF, now run by Alex Latcham and former Colorado Republican Sen. Cory Gardner, has already started spending in five states — Georgia, North Carolina, Maine, Alaska, and Nebraska — ahead of the 2026 midterms and are on the cusp of a buy in Texas in support of Sen. John Cornyn, R-Texas, who's facing a stern challenge from Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, Axios reported. SLF's most recent poll from May showed Cornyn trailing Paxton by 16 points.

Latcham told Axios that President Donald Trump is actively involved in the efforts.

"We're working with [the White House] to identify and vet Senate candidates," Latcham told Axios, describing Trump's engagement as an asset "as we navigate some of these primaries."

Latcham credited Thune for his fundraising prowess but also said SLF has been targeting new donors.

"Obviously, you've got the crypto community, which is more engaged in politics writ large," he told Axios.
