Sen. Shelley Moore Capito said that she prefers the two-bill approach as the most effective way to push forward President-elect Donald Trump's agenda once he enters the White House.
Appearing on Fox News Sunday, the West Virginia Republican said, "The two-bill system makes more sense to me, because we can do it more immediately and it can have a quicker and more positive effect."
Capito, who is the Senate Republican Policy Committee chair, said, "I think the most important aspect of it is that we have a wonderful opportunity here with the president coming in and then control of the House and Senate, so we need to seize this opportunity," adding that this is also what the American public voted for and is expecting from Washington.
"We want to have a success here, whether it is one bill or two. I don't think it matters so much as long as we get it across the finish line quickly."
Capito said, "I think you will see this iron out. It is not confrontational or anything. It is just about how to get it across the finish line."
