Gonzales Responds to Biden's Border Bill Criticism

By    |   Sunday, 10 March 2024 10:24 PM EDT

Rep. Tony Gonzales, R-Texas, said that President Joe Biden's words and actions don't align regarding the border.

On "The Hill Sunday," on NewsNation, Gonzales responded to Biden's urging of Congress to get last month's failed Senate border deal to him. Biden said in his State of the Union address that Congress needs to "get this bill done. We need to act now."

Gonzales said, "It's easy to point blame ... The facts are the Senate could not get the bill on the floor to even vote on it."

Gonzales also criticized the bill for "allowing 5,000 people to come over illegally," saying that "that number should always be zero."
