Trump: 'There Will Be No Rematch' With Harris on Debate Stage

By    |   Wednesday, 09 October 2024 09:40 PM EDT

Former President Donald Trump has once again rejected calls for a second debate with Vice President Kamala Harris on Wednesday evening, saying, "There will be no rematch."

"I won the last two debates, one with crooked Joe [Biden], the other with lyin' Kamala. I accepted the Fox-News invitation to debate Kamala on September 4th, but she turned it down - I am also leading in the polls, with the lead getting bigger by the day - and leading in all swing states," Trump wrote in all caps on his Truth Social Media platform.

On Wednesday, Fox News Media offered to host a debate between Harris and Trump in Pennsylvania later this month. The network proposed a similar format to that of the CNN debate in June between Trump and Biden.

"It is very late in the process, voting has already begun - there will be no rematch! Besides, Kamala stated clearly, yesterday, that she would not do anything different than Joe Biden, so there is nothing to debate. Thank you for your attention to this matter! Donald J. Trump," he added in all caps.

In September, Harris accepted a debate to take place on Oct. 23 to be hosted by CNN.

"Vice President Harris is ready for another opportunity to share a stage with Donald Trump," campaign chair Jen O'Malley Dillon told CNN in a statement. "Donald Trump should have no problem agreeing to this debate."

"It is the same format and setup as the CNN debate he attended and said he won in June, when he praised CNN’s moderators, rules, and ratings," the campaign noted, according to CNN.

Trump has repeatedly dismissed calls for another debate regardless of the network.

"She's done one debate. I've done two. It's too late to do another," he said last month. "I'd love to, in many ways, but it's too late. The voting is cast. The voters are out there."
