Trump Wins South Carolina

Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump will win South Carolina and its nine electoral votes, Newsmax is projecting.

The projection comes after polls closed in South Carolina at 7 p.m. Eastern time Tuesday.

Newsmax gave Trump a 98% chance of winning South Carolina over Democrat Kamala Harris. Trump defeated President Joe Biden by 11 points in South Carolina in 2020. He carried the state by 14 points over Hillary Clinton in 2016.

Trump defeated former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley in the state’s GOP primary 59.8% to 39.5% in February.
