Trump Seeks Commitment That His Treasury Secretary Will Enact Tariffs, FT Reports

President-elect Donald Trump's advisers have sought assurances from top contenders for the job of Treasury secretary that they are committed to his tariff plans, the Financial Times reported on Sunday, citing people familiar.

Trump has not announced his nominee for the role, but Howard Lutnick, the CEO of Cantor Fitzgerald, and investor Scott Bessent are top candidates for the job.
