Host and pundit Tucker Carlson has publicly criticized President Donald Trump and other conservatives for their support of Israel's recent military strikes on Iran.

In his newsletter titled "This Could Be the Final Newsletter Before All-Out War," Carlson accused Trump of being "complicit" in Israel's attack, arguing that U.S. funding and weapons supplied to Israel, which Trump has boasted about, place the U.S. at the center of the conflict.

He stated, "Washington knew these attacks would happen. They aided Israel in carrying them out," and suggested that direct U.S. involvement in a war with Iran would betray voters who supported Trump's "America First" platform.

Carlson also called for the U.S. to "drop Israel" and let it fight its own wars, emphasizing that such a conflict does not benefit the United States.

Additionally, Carlson targeted conservative media figures and donors, labeling them "warmongers" for advocating U.S. military involvement.

In a post on X, Carlson asked rhetorically, "Who are the warmongers?"

He then described them as "anyone who's calling Donald Trump today to demand air strikes and other direct US military involvement in a war with Iran."

Carlson then offered his "list" of warmongers, specifically Sean Hannity, Mark Levin, Rupert Murdoch, Ike Perlmutter, and Miriam Adelson.

"At some point they will all have to answer for this, but you should know their names now," Carlson concluded.

A source close to Trump says none of the individuals Carlson named have called or contacted the president to "demand airstrikes" or ask the U.S. to directly join Israel's war on Iran.

U.S. Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee also weighed in, saying Israel's security remains in America's national interest.

"Seven hundred thousand Americans live in Israel," Huckabee wrote to supporters. "That is a full Congressional district but Tucker doesn't care."

Huckabee continued, with sarcasm, "He knows more about the Middle East than anyone.

"I learned long ago that the most dangerous man in the room is the guy who doesn't know what he doesn't know. He will get you killed. That's Tucker."

Carlson's criticism of Trump reflects a broader split within the conservative movement, with some MAGA figures like Jack Posobiec and Charlie Kirk also expressing concern that supporting Israel's actions could fracture Trump's coalition and contradict his anti-war campaign promises.

Since the Oct. 7, 2023, attack on Israel, Carlson has ruffled feathers among many conservatives who have backed Israel as America's lone democratic ally in the region.

Carlson has argued that the U.S. should not get involved in foreign wars, especially ones not directly involving U.S. interests.

Even before Israel's attack on Iran in the early hours of Friday morning, Carlson had been in a feud with radio host Levin.

Carlson accused Levin of "lobbying for war" against Iran and begged Trump to ignore the Fox News host's request.

Levin, whom the president in April named to the Homeland Security Advisory Council, was at the White House on Wednesday, according to Carlson.

"Mark Levin was at the White House today, lobbying for war with Iran," Carlson wrote on X. "To be clear, Levin has no plans to fight in this or any other war. He's demanding that American troops do it."

On Thursday, Levin responded to Carlson.

"Yes, I know ... Carlson has become a loathsome a** who is increasingly unhinged and pathetic," Levin wrote on X.

"Our nation's enemies love him, as do certain vile and weird conspiracy theorists he promotes. I will address him, again, and his barely literate and utterly incoherent social media ramblings on radio tonight. But the good news is, the more he talks and writes, the less relevant and more poisonous he becomes."

Carlson said Levin, in citing that Iran was "weeks away" from building nuclear weapons, was repeating a claim that dates back to "at least the 1990s."

"It's a lie," Carlson said. "In fact, there is zero credible intelligence that suggests Iran is anywhere near building a bomb, or has plans to. None. Anyone who claims otherwise is ignorant or dishonest. If the US government knew Iran was weeks from possessing a nuclear weapon, we'd be at war already."

Carlson said Levin's No. 1 goal is "regime change."

Carlson argued Trump had campaigned against regime change in Iran.

He also argued that a war with Iran could be challenging.

"The first week of a war with Iran could easily kill thousands of Americans," he wrote. "It could also collapse our economy, as surging oil prices trigger unmanageable inflation. Consider the effects of $30 gasoline ... An attack on Iran could very easily become a world war. We'd lose."

Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said on Wednesday that abandoning uranium enrichment was "100%" against the country's interests, rejecting a central U.S. demand in talks to resolve a decadeslong dispute over Tehran's nuclear ambitions.

The move apparently prompted Israel to make a preemptive strike on Iran's nuclear facilities and other military and governmental sites.

Iran has long carried out secret nuclear activities with material not declared to the U.N. nuclear watchdog at three locations that have long been under investigation, the watchdog said in a wide-ranging, confidential report to member states seen by Reuters.

Iranian leaders have long claimed that if they acquired nuclear weapons they would "wipe Israel off the map."
