House Speaker Nancy Pelosi pursuing impeachment of a former president is "pure spite," and President Joe Biden has to decide whether he is for the center and unity or the divisive left, according to former House Speaker Newt Gingrich.

"His challenge is going to be is he going to be the President Biden of his inaugural address or the President Biden of his executive orders?" Gingrich told Sunday's "The Cats Roundtable" on WABC 770 AM-N.Y.

"Those are two really different futures. And he's the guy in charge. He has to decide which one of those two he wants to be."

Gingrich told host John Catsimatidis that Biden's address hit all the right notes, but he then went to sent executive orders that completely contrasted his message of unity, because he had to pander to the leftist "gang."

"You draw a distinction between Biden the personality and the Biden gang," Gingrich said. "The Biden gang is way to the left of the Biden personality. Right in the middle of giving a speech about unity, you have Nancy Pelosi impeaching President Trump in what is a circus stunt, because Trump left office. You can't impeach somebody who's not there

"How can that possibly help unify the country?"

"It doesn't unify us," he added. "It does just the opposite."

Gingrich took direct offense to Biden's unwinding President Donald Trump's 1776 Commission to celebrate the American history that the gang considers "built on slavery."

"President Trump had created a 1776 Commission to look at what happened with the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, the whole rise of modern America," Gingrich said. "I thought it was telling that was one of the very first things that Biden killed on his first day of office. And I think it's because of the left. They're for the 1619 Project at The New York Times, and their effort to convince us that all American history is built around slavery."
