Mike Waltz, President-elect Donald Trump's incoming national security adviser, said on Sunday the Republican president-elect needs time to evaluate possible deals that would allow popular app TikTok to stay in the U.S. market.

Every company in China has some connection to the Chinese Communist Party, Waltz said in an interview with CBS "Face the Nation" program. "We can have an app that Americans can Americans can enjoy, but at the same time that protects their data, protects them from outside influence," he said.

"He (Trump) is definitely wanting to have the time right now, which would mean an extension, to evaluate the deals that are on the table," Waltz said.
