America just celebrated its Fourth of July holiday.
We in Israel wish our American allies a Happy Birthday and want (as always) to take this opportunity to celebrate the historic relationship between our two great nations.
Since President Harry Truman recognized the State of Israel in 1948, the Jewish State has had no greater friend in the White House, than President Donald J. Trump.
America's 45th commander in chief pulled the United States out of the dangerous Iran nuclear deal (Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action), moved the U.S. embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, and recognized Israeli sovereignty over the Golan Heights.
In gratitude, in June 2019, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu dedicated a new city to be called "Trump Heights" in the Golan, the most strategic area, the highest point in Israel.
However, not everyone is in favor of the alliance between America and Israel.
Very recently, the sign outside Trump Heightsthe symbol of this historic friendship - was vandalized.
As soon as I heard about the vandalism, I immediately went to the Golan Heights to see for myself and pledged to help the local community there rebuild and beautify Trump Heights. Today, in celebration of the 4th of July, we will be unveiling a new sign and planting 100 trees, out of a sign of friendship and gratitude to The United States and President Trump.
In describing the end of days, it says in Isaiah 61:3, "They shall be called trees of victory, planted by God for His glory." Planting trees in the Land of Israel is a symbolic act, a prophetic action, and many have joined with me in our historic undertaking.
In coming years, Trump Heights will become a great city in Israel. In fact, at a cabinet meeting on June 14, President Trump’s 74th birthday, the Israeli government approved plans to invest $2.3 million to develop the town and build 300 new houses in Trump Heights.
At the meeting. Netanyahu said that Israel would "begin practical steps in establishing the community of Ramat Trump on the Golan Heights, Israel’s sovereignty over which was recognized by President Trump."
The settlement in the Golan was named in June 2019 to honor the US president after he signed an executive order recognizing Israeli sovereignty over the region that was captured in the defensive Six-Day War in 1967.
This is the second community in Israel named after a sitting U.S. president, the first being Kfar Truman in central Israel which was established as Bnei Harel in 1949 and renamed in 1950.
Genesis 12:3 promises that God blesses those who bless Israel, and it is our firm prayer, that God should bless Israel and may God bless the United States of America.
Happy Birthday!
