The Democratic party will go to just about any measure to win an election. They are utterly ruthless. They will sacrifice the national welfare for their short-term political gains.

But you have to hand it to them, they know how to win.

They will impeach.

They will try to knock their opponents off the ballot.

They will prosecute their political enemies on the flimsiest of charges.

They will raid the offices of their political opponents' legal counsel.

They will conspire with social media to kick their opponents off media platforms.

They will conspire with social media to change algorithms so that their stories are accentuated while those of their opponents are depressed.

They will import 10 million illegal aliens with the hope of getting them registered and voting to bolster the power of the Democratic Party.

They will give voting rights to people in jail.

They will oppose voter ID requirements, even though it’s supported overwhelmingly by the public, including rank and file Democrats.

They seek to legalize ballot-harvesting, which intimidates voters and loses the ballot’s chain of custody.

They will eviscerate signature verification safeguards.

They will overhaul the U.S. Supreme Court.

They will eliminate the filibuster.

They will try to create new states (Puerto Rico and D.C.) to get more Democratic senators.

They will do anything it takes to win.

The GOP, on the other hand, always wimps out in the end.

They talk a tough game, but when push comes to shove, they can never get enough votes to play hardball, which is the Democrats game.

They wouldn’t impeach Joe Biden over his betrayal of the American public by refusing to enforce the border, instead focusing their ire on his underlings.

They wouldn’t impeach Biden, even though he held up foreign aid to get a Ukrainian prosecutor hostile to his son's interests fired.

They won’t hold Democrats, such as Former U.S. Atty. Gen. Eric Holder and current U.S. Atty. Gen. Merrick Garland, in contempt, even though Democrats did so to many Republicans, including Peter Navarro and Steve Bannon.

And now, Republicans are wimping out on perhaps the easiest way for them to help secure the presidential election this November, which is to make Nebraska a winner take all state.

There is at least one scenario where Donald Trump and Kamala Harris can end up in an electoral tie.

The difference maker could be the one vote in a congressional district in Nebraska.

The Cornhusker state is one of just two states that is not winner take all.

One congressional district was won by Barack Obama and Joe Biden.

A simple tweak of the state law by Nebraska lawmakers can convert the state into a total winner for the GOP.

You would think this is a no-brainer from a strategic point of view.

The Democrats would do it in a nanosecond. But the Republicans once again wind up playing "Hamlet" twisting in the wind.

They don’t want to give the appearance that they’re interfering with the election, and, God forbid, get a bad editorial in The New York Times. Last week a key Republican state senator declared he won’t support any changes at this point.

Such tepid positioning by Republicans is the reason they could very well lose this election on Nov. 5.
