Fake heiress Anna Sorokin is demanding that strangers stop visiting her in prison. Taking to Instagram, Sorokin, who is serving a four to 12 year prison sentence for posing as a wealthy socialite to con businesses out of hundred of thousands of dollars, warned people to stay away as they were interfering with her "sleeping schedule."
"Please do not show up here unannounced," she wrote on Monday. "I am not making the same mistake of not checking the visitor’s identity again, and I won’t be accepting visits from names I don’t recognize."
Sorokin added that visitors are wasting their time and "interfering with my sleeping schedule."
"I’m kind of busy, and showing up here at 8 a.m. on a Sunday morning/New Year’s Day/any day is not the way!" she continued, urging her followers to send an email, letter, or DM on Instagram rather than show up unannounced.
"If I want to talk to you, be assured that I will find a way to get back to you," she concluded.
Sorokin was sentenced last year after she used the identity of German heiress Anna Delvey to scam boutique New York hotels and fashionable friends. She defrauded businesses of about $250,000 and reportedly used forged bank statements to seek a loan of $22 million from a bank to fund a private arts club she wanted to open in Manhattan.
Among her other scams, Sorokin was able to secure a $100,000 loan, which she allegedly never repaid, and used about $30,000 of that to cover her overdue bills at the 11 Howard hotel, where she was living.
