Radio host Delilah is taking a leave of absence after her son committed suicide last week.

The 57-year-old mother posted about her son Zachariah's death and her leave of absence in a Twitter message Saturday.

“He was being treated, counseled and embraced fiercely by family and friends while battling depression for some time now,” Delilah, whose full name is Delilah Rene, said in the message. “My heart is broken beyond repair and I can not fathom how to go on ... but I have to believe he is at peace with the Lord and that God will get us through.”

Delilah is the mother of 13 children, 10 of whom were adopted. She previously lost another child, Sammy Rene, to sickle cell anemia in 2012.

The popular radio host often ministers to the brokenhearted, picking out a soft, comforting song to play for a lost or estranged loved one. She is the most listened-to female radio host in the U.S. and her show is heard on more than 150 stations.

Delilah founded Point Hope Foundation to help children get adopted from foster care as well as working with orphans in Ghana.

While she is on her leave of absence, recent episodes of the show will be rebroadcast.

Many of Delilah's Twitter fans posted condolences and said they are praying for her and her family.
