Christine Baumgartner is engaged a year after she finalized her divorce from actor Kevin Costner.
According to People, Baumgartner's partner, financier Josh Connor, got engaged Sunday during what Baumgartner, 50, initially thought would be an intimate dinner in Santa Barbara. However, Connor, 49, had other plans.
"It was about to rain, so almost no one else was on the beach when Josh got down on one knee," a source close to the couple told People.
They were first seen together in Hawaii during a trip in July 2023, sparking rumors about a potential relationship. A source close to Baumgartner confirmed their romance in January 2024.
"Christine and Josh's relationship started as a friendship, so they have a really strong foundation," the insider told People. "They share the same values, and she feels so happy and supported in this new relationship. They're so in love. It's been a very natural and positive step forward for Christine."
Baumgartner filed for divorce from Costner, star of "Yellowstone," in May 2023 to end their 18-year marriage.
"It is with great sadness that circumstances beyond his control have transpired which have resulted in Mr. Costner having to participate in a dissolution of marriage action," a representative for Costner said at the time, according to Entertainment Weekly. "We ask that his, Christine's, and their children's privacy be respected as they navigate this difficult time."
In the first months after their split, Costner and Baumgartner fought in court over child custody and support payments and appeared to be headed for a contentious trial. But they reached a settlement agreement in September.
Costner and Baumgartner share joint custody of their sons, ages 17 and 15, and their 14-year-old daughter. In September, a judge ordered Costner to pay approximately $63,000 per month in child support, after a request from Baumgartner for $175,000 per month.
