Fleetwood Mac's Lindsey Buckingham has been granted a permanent restraining order against an alleged stalker who he claims has been harassing the him and his family since 2021.
Buckingham appeared in a Los Angeles court on Dec. 20 to present evidence against an alleged stalker, which included photographs left by the woman at his home and an "unmarked audio clip," according to the Daily Express.
A temporary restraining order was already in place at the time of the hearing.
After reviewing the evidence, the judge granted a five-year protective order, effective until December 2029. The accused stalker, who did not attend the hearing, has been directed to stay at least 100 yards away from the musician, his wife Kristen Buckingham, and their son William Buckingham.
The woman is also prohibited from contacting, harassing, or threatening the music icon.
Buckingham explained that the harassment began when the woman obtained his wife's business cell phone number and began contacting her, leaving lengthy messages in which she claimed to be Buckingham's daughter and threatened violence against him and his family.
"She also blamed me for facial deformities she apparently suffered as a child and demanded money," Buckingham told the court, according to the Daily Express.
"I do not know [her] and I am not her father," he added.
In 2022, police instructed the woman to stop contacting Buckingham and his family and no further legal action was pursued. However, in 2024, the woman resurfaced, leaving photos of her face alongside Buckingham's at his residence.
Following another police intervention, the woman was ordered to stay away. A few weeks later, Buckingham was woken by officers who handcuffed him and asked him to step outside.
"The reason given was that a 911 call had been received stating that my son William was in my house and [wanting to harm himself] and that the caller had heard gunshots," he told the court, according to In Touch.
"After twenty minutes of the police searching my house and me outside in the cold handcuffed, I was let back into my house, shaken and fearful," he added.
Upon realizing the call was fake, police released Buckingham.
"I now know that the 911 call was traced to [Michelle's] phone and was the latest in an unabated pattern of harassment and threatening acts against my family and me," he added.
