Ozzy Osbourne Reuniting With Black Sabbath for Final Show

Ozzy Osbourne will perform one final show when he reunites with his former bandmates of Black Sabbath.

The rock icon will join his band to play a fundraising concert in Birmingham, England, on July 5, BBC has confirmed. The event will also feature dozens of other bands, including Metallica, Pantera, Slayer, Gojira, and Anthrax.

This marks the first time the original lineup comprising Osbourne, Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler, and Bill Ward have played together in 20 years. Osbourne, who has largely been forced to stop touring due to a combination of Parkinson's and spinal injuries, will also perform a short solo set before Black Sabbath takes to the stage.

Speaking with the BBC, Ozzy's wife, Sharon Osbourne, provided a health update while confirming his performance at the fundraising event.

"He's doing great. He's doing really great," she said. "He's so excited about this, about being with the guys again and all his friends. It's exciting for everyone."

That being said, the concert would definitely mark the 76-year-old's final show.

"Ozzy didn't have a chance to say goodbye to his friends, to his fans, and he feels there's no been no full stop," she said. "This is his full stop."

Ozzy shared in November 2023 that he would likely not perform again amid his health struggles that have left him battling to walk.

"I'm not going to get up there and do a half-hearted Ozzy looking for sympathy," he told Rolling Stone at the time. "What's the point in that? I'm not going up there in a wheelchair."

Osbourne went on to make comparisons to himself and Phil Collins, who has also faced various health issues since suffering a spinal injury in 2007.

Collins was left with damaged vertebrae in his upper neck and also suffered nerve damage, and was forced to use a wheelchair to perform during Genesis' final show.

"I've seen Phil Collins perform recently, and he's got virtually the same problems as me. He gets up there in a wheelchair! But I couldn't do that," Osbourne said.
