Rod Stewart is celebrating his 80th birthday aboard a $150 million superyacht in Barbados.
The rock legend, who turns 80 on Friday, has gathered his family for a 10-day celebration, covering the $3 million cost of the luxury yacht, according to DailyMail.com. The yacht, a three-tiered vessel featuring nine suites for guests, as well as a beauty salon, a gym, a hammam, a swimming pool, and a helipad, set sail on Sunday for the extravagant birthday bash.
On board Stewart's superyacht are his wife, Penny Lancaster, 53, and their sons, Alastair Wallace, 19, and Aiden Patrick, 13. His daughter, Kimberly Stewart, 45, is also part of the celebration, along with her daughter, Delilah, 13.
Stewart's son, Sean Stewart, 44, is aboard with his girlfriend Julia Stambler. Stewart's daughters, Ruby, 37, and Renee, 32, are joined by their partners, Jake Kalic and Adam Sumner, respectively. Also on board is Liam Stewart, 30, with his wife Nicole Artukovich, who is expecting their second child, along with Stewart's 1-year-old grandsons, Otis and Louie.
The luxury yacht is staffed with a full crew, including three chefs to cater to the family's dietary needs and restrictions as they "hop across several islands" in the Caribbean, DailyMail.com reported.
"The holiday is costing Rod millions," an insider told the outlet. "He's known to be a cheapskate but not this time. He flew everyone to Florida first class and has told them they won't need to put their hands in their pockets for a thing. He's covering their every whim."
"The reason behind the trip is Rod feels it's time to bring his family together for his big birthday," the source added. "There have been battles between many of them over the years. The singer wants everything from now on to be harmonious."
Stewart previously celebrated in style aboard a luxury 197-foot yacht in Italy in 2022, but this year he wanted to "do it up big" for his 80th birthday.
"This trip meant so much to Rod," a second source said. "The whole family has come together and put any drama aside to really have a bonding experience."
"Being surrounded by so much love is invaluable to Rod. He wanted to do it up big for this one," they added. "He could not have gone bigger."
