"Squid Game" star Lee Byung-Hun's home in Los Angeles was reportedly smashed in and ransacked.
An employee discovered the break-in when they visited the South Korean actor's residence and found its sliding glass door had been broken, according to a TMZ report published Monday.
Lee, 53, was away from home during the break-in, and it remains unclear whether any belongings were stolen from his home. Authorities are awaiting Lee's return to examine his possessions before confirming the details.
Lee is not thought to have been singled out as a specific target.
Lee's agency, BH Entertainment later reassured the public that despite the intrusion, no damage occurred inside the actor's home.
According to the police, burglary crews tend to roam and rob homes in wealthy Los Angeles neighborhoods.
"This appears to be the act of one of the robbers who break into [houses in] wealthy areas around Los Angeles," stated the police.
In two notable incidents reported last week, residents were injured and SWAT officers were called out.
In the Larchmont neighborhood, a resident was injured on Tuesday when a group of three burglars forcibly entered her home, demanded property, and ransacked the residence before making a getaway, according to the Los Angeles Police Department, as reported by the Washington Examiner.
On Thursday, the LAPD dispatched a SWAT team to a residence in the Sherman Oaks neighborhood following an incident where a group of suspects forcibly entered an unoccupied home and barricaded themselves inside
The incident comes weeks after Lee and his wife, Lee Min-jung, welcomed their second child. The pair, who have been married for 10 years, welcomed their first son in 2015, two years after exchanging wedding vows, according to The Korea Times.
They announced their second pregnancy in August.
