Zendaya and Tom Holland are engaged, according to multiple reports.

A family insider confirmed the news to People. According to TMZ, Holland proposed to his "Spider-Man" co-star during the holiday season at one of Zendaya’s family residences.

A separate source told People that "everyone close to them knew an engagement was happening" but were just not sure when, adding that Holland wanted to propose to Zendaya "for a while."

"He's always been crazy about her. He always knew she was the one. They have something very special," the source said, noting that Holland revealed the news to friends around New Year's.

The couple is not rushing a wedding though, the source said, adding they "will just enjoy things for now."

"They are both busy with work projects," the insider said.

Holland and Zendaya, who play the on-screen couple Peter Parker and MJ in "Spider-Man" films, had long maintained they were just friends. However, their relationship developed after their characters’ first onscreen kiss in 2019’s "Spider-Man: Far From Home." In July 2021, they were spotted kissing in a car, confirming to fans that their relationship had moved off-screen.

Holland later spoke about his desire to keep their relationship private in an interview with GQ

"One of the downsides of our fame is that privacy isn't really in our control anymore, and a moment that you think is between two people that love each other very much is now a moment that is shared with the entire world," he told the outlet in November 2021.

He said that they would decide together when to share details about their relationship.

"This isn't my story. It's our story. And we'll talk about what it is when we're ready to talk about it together," Holland said.

He doubled down on his remarks in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter in June 2023.

“Our relationship is something that we are incredibly protective of and we want to keep as sacred as possible," he said at the time. "We don’t think that we owe it to anyone, it’s our thing, and it has nothing to do with our careers."
