President-elect Donald Trump said the Biden administration "knows what is happening" with drones flying over New Jersey and New York "and for some reason they don't want to comment."
Trump, speaking with reporters Monday at Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach, Florida, said he doubted a foreign adversary was responsible for the drones that have created a frenzy in the New York Metropolitan area.
"Look, our military knows where they took off from," Trump said. "If it's a garage they can go right into that garage. They know where it came from and where it went. And for some reason they don't want to comment. And I think they'd be better off saying what it is.
"I can't imagine it's the enemy, because if it was the enemy they would blast it out. … Something strange is going on — for some reason, they don't want to tell the people — and they should."
Trump, who declined to say if he has received an intelligence briefing on the drone activity, joked he won't spend the weekend at his New Jersey golf course because drones have been seen nearby.
