Two teenagers who brutally attacked former DOGE staffer Edward "Big Balls" Coristine in Washington, D.C., have reportedly avoided jail time after pleading guilty to simple assault.
The 15-year-old boy and girl from Hyattsville, Maryland, were sentenced Tuesday to probation in a Washington, D.C., court — just over two months after their Aug. 3 arrest, according to the New York Post.
The boy received 12 months' probation with house arrest, while the girl was given nine months' probation and sent to a youth shelter, according to WUSA9.
WUSA9 did not report the juveniles' names because of their age.
The attack took place around 3 a.m. ET in a parking garage and was part of an attempted carjacking. Other suspects remain at large.
Coristine, 19, addressed the defendants via video link, saying, "I hope you can figure things out and be ready for the consequences" while thanking police and the court for swift action.
He suffered a concussion and a broken nose after he and a female companion were assaulted by what he described as "a group of 10 guys."
