China welcomes multinational firms expanding investment and cooperation in the country, Vice Premier He Lifeng told representatives of foreign companies in Beijing on Friday, the official Xinhua news agency said.

China will continue to open up, He said, adding that China's economy showed stability, resilience and potential.

Representatives from companies including Abbott Laboratories, Prudential, and SK Group were at the meeting, Xinhua said.
