NATO Will Not Allow Russia, China to Use Arctic for Military Purposes

NATO ⁠will not allow Russia or China to use the ‍Arctic ‍region for military purposes, ⁠German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius said on ​Thursday, after Germany said it would ‍join European partners in ⁠sending soldiers on a reconnaissance mission to Greenland.

Pistorius ⁠said it ​was ⁠crucial for the ‍EU to coordinate closely ‌with U.S. partners within NATO ⁠on ​reconnaissance ‍in Greenland under Danish leadership.
