Russia said on Thursday it will shut Poland's consulate in Irkutsk at the end of December in retaliation for Warsaw's decision to close the Russian consulate in Gdansk.
The Russian Foreign Ministry said the Polish ambassador was summoned and handed a note informing him that Moscow would withdraw its consent for the Irkutsk consulate to operate from Dec. 30.
Poland earlier announced it would revoke permission for Russia's consulate in Gdansk as of Dec. 23.
