Russia said Tuesday that it was monitoring reports that the U.S. had stationed nuclear weapons in Britain.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Russia observed an escalation of tensions.

The Times and Telegraph newspapers reported Tuesday that the United States had stationed nuclear weapons in Britain for the first time since 2008.
