Kremlin: Allowing New START Nuclear Treaty With US to Lapse Would Be Fraught With Risk

The Kremlin said on Tuesday that allowing the New START nuclear treaty with the United States to expire next February would be fraught with risks for international security.

In a call with reporters, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that Russia would have to take unspecified measures if the U.S. does not agree to extend the treaty for a year, as President Vladimir Putin proposed on Monday.
