Ukrainian forces have taken control of nearly 90% of the northeastern town of Kupiansk, military chief Oleksandr Syrskyi said on Wednesday, days after Ukraine's president touted a victory against Russian forces there.
"Thanks to active search and strike operations, we managed to repel the (Russians) from Kupiansk and take control of almost 90% of the town's territory," Syrskyi wrote on Telegram.
