Time for Contrived, Self-Righteous Indignation to End; Let’s Balance Our Books, Heal America

Let's consider what could be termed as "the days of DOGE"

How is a columnist to operate in these days of DOGE?

Developments come in at light speed.

Digesting the USAID revelations and offering thoughtful analysis seems a worthy task, that is until 30 new developments emerge as you finish your column draft.

Sheesh!

OK, we have an aperture problem.

Rather than delve deep into what could be described as "The Battle of Foreign Grift," no check that, Aid, a more productive effort might be to look at the broad strategic brush strokes of President Donald J. Trump's attack on the swamp and the resistance of a tribe of elected/unelected swamp monsters who have taken great offense to We the People wanting accountability.

Assuredly, accountability is not nearly enough. We want our money and country back.

As the DOGE team rips through the Leviathan’s "1’s and 0’s" with more zeal than a pack of wild ferrets discovering an egg stash after a grocery store heist, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt clobbers us with another shock from the briefing room podium:

$2.7 Trillion in improper Medicaid and Medicare payments sent . . . wait for it . . . overseas!

Have any expressions of thanks emanated from the permanent swamp monsters of D.C.?

Nope. Not even a whimper.

But what we did see, and still see now, is plenty of contrived indignation from the usual suspects.

Reps. Maxine Waters, D-Calif., Jamie Raskin, D-Md., and Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass. have led a most boisterous cavalcade, replete with dramatic histrionics.

  • How dare the unelected Elon Musk shine a very bright light on swamp grift?
  • How very rich from the weasels who went to D.C. on a few nickels, landed the $200K per year job, and boosted their net worths magically by millions.

Elon and his A-team must have struck a chord because now the swamp antibodies include ethic-less judges activating to throw wrenches in the gears in a vain attempt to stop the DOGE train.

They do know we can see all this on X, correct?

Splat!

Four FEMA kids fired for quickly wiring $59 million to luxury hotels in New York City occupied by illegal immigrants.

Have a DOGE-y Day Y’all.

To be clear, this is far from a left vs. right issue.

This is a Washington D.C. (swamp) vs. We the People battle for possibly the future survival of the republic. (Secret: We’re broke.)

While the Democrats gather for a sing-along led by U.S. House Minority Leader Rep. Hakim Jeffries, D-N.Y., and union leaders at the "Save the Civil Service" out of tune rally, GOP congressmen like Rep Mario Diaz-Balart, R-Fla., whine that Congress still has an important role.

Embarrassment, What Embarrassment?

How embarrassing it must be to sit on a subcommittee that overseas USAID resources as the DOGE ninjas lay waste to any notion that Congress was minding the store.

"We still have the power of the purse, and I zealously protect the power of the purse," he told CNN.

Dear Congressman, jump in any time . . . the DOGE kids say the water is fine.

A handful of GOP representatives with appreciably large civil servant populations in their districts are trying to thread the needle of DOGE pushback, without making so much noise that it attracts President Trump’s attention.

It must be nice to have an advocate in D.C. when it's your job that's under attack.

The poor folks of Palisades Valley, California, Western, North Carolina, and East Palestine, Ohio, wish they did, but we learned in the last four years if you are legal, not in Ukraine, a Diversity Equity Inclusion (DEI) kid or a fed, you may not have any representation at all.

And yet they scream that Elon is a bad man.

"He’s an unelected president!" to paraphrase the collective mainstream media as they melt in the heat of the new White House sauna called the Press Briefing Room.

Our national sense of humor is embracing the Battle of D.C. as seen on X.

Perhaps the post that put a bow on all of it was found in an edgy analogy:

"You own a store. Your store gets robbed. Elon looks at the video footage of the robbery and tells you who did it. Now you want to arrest Elon. . . . You’re an idiot."

All fun if it was not so deadly serious. Financially DOGE is highlighting how close to the monetary abyss we truly are and that until he came to town no one in the swamp lifted a finger to touch the golden calf.

The dollars flying out the door have, perhaps more serious consequences besides paying for mini mansions in Fairfax County, Virginia.

In the USAID accounts the data confirms what Michael Yon and others have been warning us about for years.

We the People are paying for our own demise.

The billions fueling thousands of “Uniparty” soldiers in the form of Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) moving unchecked across all manner of republic crushing operations from regime changes, child trafficking, gain of function funding to lawfare against political opposition, censorship and millions of illegal immigrants coming here.

It's time to capitalize on the early DOGE works.

A needed age of accountability seems to be coming into focus. That said, embarrassing questions in a heated hearing is not what we’re after.

Time for investigations, indictments, and convictions while closures and layoffs commence.

But will those even be enough?
