The Mao Dynasty, aka Chinese Communist Party (CCP), could be terminal, and Xi Jinping is on a clear path as its last, infamous emperor.
Before President Trump’s return to the oval office, China was already welded to downward economic trendlines and indicators, never fully recovering from the COVID 19 pandemic and disastrous decisions Xi and the party have made since.
Xi Jinping’s lethal lockdowns, rollup of reforms, endless money printing, destruction of the real estate sector, failed banks, and establishment of a police state that Mao Tse Tung could only dream about have sent the country back to 1979.
Along the way, Xi has used the camouflage of corruption investigations to purge senior government and military officials on multiple occasions.
His paranoia was perhaps well justified.
In a third major purge, taking down over 1300 officers and 80-plus generals, the party has started removing officials loyal to Xi under the same ruse — corruption.
Vice Chairman of the Central Military Commission, Zhang Youxia has quickly emerged as the counter force to Xi, and the silent force behind Xi loyalist dismissals.
President Trump’s trade tariff policy came in at the worst possible moment for Emperor Xi facing mounting pressures for a failed economy and ruthless iron fist rule.
Xi’s arrogant "wolf warrior" diplomacy to threaten retaliation ended in a thud during a 3-nation trip where he failed to rally support to counter the U.S. Americans, frustrated by unfair trade, fentanyl deaths, cartel collusion, espionage, cyber-attacks and the rest of the CCP’s misplaced hubris, have had enough.
Unable to "save face," critical to any emperor’s reign, Beijing quietly capitulated to President Trump, easing the counter-tariffs in key areas.
Effect?
No change in policy from D.C. which has decided that disruption and short-term pain is worth hitting the Xi and the CCP when they are down.
The beltway pundits who were erroneously raised to believe trade wars were not real wars should look in on China’s cities where unemployment is soaring along with bankruptcies, the wealthy and foreign companies are leaving in droves and dissent is on a sharp rise.
There are several instances where workers who have not been paid for many months are actually burning down their factories. Since Trump 2.0, over 10,000 factories have closed and major cities like Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen, and Guangzhou are ghost towns.
Ports are idled.
Tang Dynasty Calling . . .
Although atheistic in nature, the senior leaders of the CCP including Xi are very superstitious.
A great deal of weight is placed in the Tui Bei Tu (推背图), a 7th century book of prophesies about China’s future.
It's often compared to the west’s Nostradamus.
Additionally, it has a reputation for accurate prediction. It foretells of a coup and assassination in the time of Xi where a warrior sneaks in with a golden sword hidden in the palace.
Many China watchers speculate that these ancient predictions are the real reason behind all the purges.
Self-fulfilling Prophesy?
While Xi and the CCP appear fixated on ancient poems and art pointing to a cataclysmic end, the sages of the Tang seem to have failed to mention the champion who bests them.
The MAGA warrior of the West should have their full attention by now.
China has grown accustomed to a U.S. officials and businessmen that can be infiltrated, extorted, blackmailed, bought or disappeared.
dThe CCP arrogantly assessed that their U.S. debt holdings, growing military and sprawling global projects (Belt and Road) provided more than enough levers to bring America to heel should she complain about the theft, fentanyl, and intentional yet slow destruction of the land of the free.
Why wouldn’t they think that way?
After all, politicians and bankers alike have cashiered American manufacturing, created dependencies on slave and near slave labor, allowed innovation to be stolen and then politely looked the other way as the CCP harvested organs of prisoners for its members, and formed alliances with America’s enemies including the Mexican Drug Cartels, killing hundreds of thousands.
Don’t worry Xi, the mainstream media won’t report it.
Today the regime sits stunned as they watch China return to the economy it had under Mao. President Trump understood his great weapon against the dynasty wasn’t a nuke, laser, or bomber.
He knew that denying the largest consumer market in the world to China would make what 8th Air Force did to Dresden in World War II look like a light touch.
China is slowly moving from recession to depression.
Trump’s global trade rebalancing to seek better deals in the world provided perfect camouflage to induce Stage 4 Cancer into the Mao Dynasty.
As the CCP and the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) turn on each other in the absence of solutions, the Trump administration would do well to avoid underestimating a cornered dragon.
The way to avoid accountability could well be military action somewhere to refocus the Chinese on America as the real problem.
As Confucious said, "May you live in interesting times."
