Jerry Falwell, Jr. serves as the President of Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia, the second largest nonprofit university in the U.S. Founded in 1971, Liberty has 100,000 students and over 3 billion in total assets. In 2018, its football program began its inaugural season in the FBS, the top tier of college football. Falwell earned his law degree from the University of Virginia and developed real estate in Lynchburg and Virginia before becoming President of Liberty in 2007. In January 2016, Falwell became one of the first evangelical business leaders to endorse publicly Donald Trump’s candidacy for president.
