It was inevitable that Democrat Tim Walz would end his campaign for a third term as Minnesota's governor after the public discovered he had betrayed their trust — it was just a question of when.
Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., posted a farewell to Walz on X.
"Thank you, @GovTimWalz," she began before listing some of the things he'd given to Minnesotans.
"Governor Walz didn’t just talk about progress — he delivered it. Paid family and sick leave. Strong protections for reproductive rights. Universal school meals. Marijuana legalization.”
The Somali-born congresswoman closed with, "A true champion for Minnesota."
Twitchy managing editor Sam Janney noted what all those things entailed.
"So abortion, big government, and pot," she said. "Yeah, pass."
Not to mention breaking the public trust by knowingly permitting billons in taxpayer dollars to be misused to enrich a few at the expense of the majority.
Under Walz's administration, Minnesota has become a felon's paradise, where criminals can rob the state treasury blind.
The U.S. Justice Department has been investigating the corruption for months, but it wasn’t widely known until independent journalist Nick Shirley published a 43-minute video exposing the $9 billion (and counting) in fraud, committed in large part by Somali-run businesses, including:
- Nutrition programs
- Housing assistance
- Behavioral health services
- Non-emergency medical transportation
- Daycare centers
These were funds coming from both Minnesota and federal taxpayers, who entrusted the government to spend wisely for the public’s benefit — not to fund lavish lifestyles or international terror in return for running nonexistent businesses.
"Free" money from a government agency is always an invitation for fraud.
And because it invites corruption, government has an obligation to closely monitor the funds to make sure they’re spent wisely.
In this case no one in Walz's administration was minding the store, and Walz didn't seem to care. But he made it clear he was aware of his dereliction of duty when he announced he was ending his campaign.
Right Line News' Eric Daugherty posted a video of Walz turning tail and scurrying out of the room after making his remarks. Daugherty added his own commentary to the video.
"HOLY SMOKES. Reporters in the room are FUMING at Tim Walz for running away from their questions after he dropped out of the race," he said. "BRUTAL, TIM. What a pathetic way to go out!"
If Walz had nothing to hide he would have stayed and answered the reporters' questions,
Instead, he rushed out of the room as fast as he resigned from the Minnesota National Guard when he found out he was going to be sent to a war zone.
Republican commentator and CNN regular Scott Jennings appeared on Newsmax's "Finnerty" Monday to discuss Walz’s hasty exit from the political arena.
"This guy has been caught. He knows that what's been uncovered is bad, but what is yet to come is likely even worst," Jennings told host Rob Finnerty. "There's never been a faster rise and fall in modern political history.”
Jennings added that Walz "admitted that they looked the other way when whistleblowers brought the fraud to their feet, because they didn't want to look racist for calling it out."
It was far better in Walz's world to allow fraudsters to steal $9 billion (and counting) from the taxpayers.
Former congressman and Army Lt. Col. (ret.) Allen West observed Monday that, "Leftists have shown that they prioritize criminal illegal immigrants over the safety and security of Americans."
They also prioritize criminal activity committed by their supporters over the rights of the taxpayers, and the safety and security of Americans.
Yesterday Newsmax columnist Dan McCarthy observed that although "Tim Walz is going away, Democrats' crisis of decline isn't."
And America is observing that decline in real time, as they continue to swing further to the left, pushing transgenderism for kids, abortion up to the moment of birth, socialism over capitalism, speech censorship, and defunding the police, to mention but a few.
Scratch one of today's far-left Democrats, and you'll find two things: a rabid control freak and spinelessness — just like Walz.
And once they're found out, they'll run away like Walz too.
That makes the GOP's marching orders pretty simple: Show America who the opposition really is. Find a Democrat and start scratching.
