President-elect Donald Trump on Tuesday called on Republicans in the Senate to "hold the line" on confirming President Joe Biden's judicial nominees, while Democrats are pushing to get the nominees approved before Biden leaves office.
"The Democrats are trying to stack the Courts with Radical Left Judges on their way out the door. Republican Senators need to Show Up and Hold the Line — No more Judges confirmed before Inauguration Day!" Trump wrote in a Truth Social post, reported The Hill.
Senate Democrats on Monday held late-night votes on confirming Biden's federal judiciary picks to get them approved before Trump takes office and Republicans take control of the Senate majority.
The Democrat-controlled Senate, as of Monday afternoon, had confirmed 216 of Biden's Article III nominees.
Meanwhile, Republicans confirmed 234 of Trump's nominees during his first term in office.
