Rep. D'Esposito to Newsmax: Gov. Hochul Rails Against Law and Order

By    |   Sunday, 29 December 2024 02:58 PM EST

New York Gov. Kathy Hochul, with her lack of action against crime and immigration in New York City, "represents the Democrats and the ideologies of the Democratic Party," Rep. Anthony D'Epsosito told Newsmax on Sunday.

"They are the ones who continue to wage war on those who stand between good and evil," the New York Republican, a former NYPD officer, said on Newsmax's "Sunday Agenda." "They are going against cops, those who stand and defend our freedoms. They go against firefighters and first responders."

As a result, Americans don't want to jump in and help, like Daniel Penny, the Marine veteran arrested after the subway death of Jordan Neely, said D'Esposito.

"When you see those who take an oath and who wear the uniform, who you think should be protected, and they are the first ones to be politicized and indicted by rogue DAs like Alvin Bragg, the American people are scared and that's why our world is turning into this scary place," said D'Esposito.

In addition, the identity has not yet been discovered of a woman who was set on fire and burned to death last Sunday on a city subway, allegedly at the hands of an illegal immigrant.

But Hochul "continues to gaslight New Yorkers," even by insisting that the subway is safe, said D'Esposito.

"There is absolutely no way that Kathy Hochul would be taking that subway, if not surrounded by members of the New York State Police and the NYPD," said the congressman.

"Kathy Hochul is emblematic of all Democrats throughout this country who continue to lie to us," said D'Esposito. "Just today, there was an article written about how the fact that Democrats continue to say that crime is down. But yet we in 2024, with the year not even finished yet, have reached record highs of New York City police officers being attacked and assaulted by migrants, by those who have come here illegally, by drug peddlers, by those who just have absolute disregard for the justice system."

But with President-elect Donald Trump being sworn in soon, the low morale among law enforcement officials will be changing, because "they know that President Trump is a leader who supports them," he said.
