Conservative commentator and CEO of Blaze Media Glenn Beck told Newsmax on Thursday that Nikki Haley is "delusional" if she thinks she's going to beat out front-runner Donald Trump for the Republican nomination.
However, if Haley is positioning herself as a solid No. 2 in case Trump gets convicted and is unable to attain the White House, that's something different.
"I think anybody who thinks they can win against Donald Trump is delusional," Beck said on "Eric Bolling The Balance." "He's going to win and he's going to win in New Hampshire, and he's going to win big in South Carolina."
Beck was reacting to Haley's assertion that the Republican primary is now a two-person race after she finished third in Iowa.
"I have no problem with somebody looking at that and saying, 'We have to have some delegates, we have to have something in case these radicals put this guy in jail and the whole thing falls apart on us.' But to be campaigning like you're going to win, especially when you have Democratic donors giving openly, giving to you to stop Donald Trump. I mean, it's just not going to happen," Beck told Bolling.
"It's just not going to happen. And I like Haley. Uh, Nikki. I think she's made a lot of strange calls that I didn't expect from a tea party person, but you know ... Trump's gonna win."
