In the waning days prior to the collapse of Blockbuster, there were investors who believed a rebound was possible, so much so that it has been reported that the company scoffed at purchasing Netflix for only $50 million.

In the interest of full disclosure: this writer would be a hypocrite if he didn’t acknowledge that he sometimes gets that nostalgic feel for a trip to the video store.

Country Club Republicans in name only (RINOs) would be well advised to study the fate of Blockbuster when lambasting the selection of J.D. Vance.

Why?

Because they don’t seem to be merely nostalgic for certain past remnants of the GOP.

RINOs fixated on attacking Sen. Vance are maniacally obsessed with bringing back a version of the Republican Party.

One that is long gone. One that is never coming back.

Their cherished version of the Republican Party simply copies and pastes vapid platitudes about the "invisible hand" of government, and other forces, as well as "free trade" for our entire economic policy agenda.

They also think it’s a good idea to run commercials telling people we need to cut their social security benefits.

Additionally, any ensuing losses are to be blamed on our position on "abortion."

For the RINOs who used to run the GOP, the man with an engineering degree from Carnegie Mellon forced to mop floors at a supermarket for a living, (as his house is on sale for half of what he paid for it), has only himself to blame.

He and his wife must apply for food stamps to feed their children because of the "irresponsible" life choices they made.

It has absolutely nothing to do with the fact that the factory where he worked suddenly closed because the U.S. government made it financially lucrative to move to China, and laws provided little if any protection and benefits to the workers losing their jobs.

Anyone questioning the validity of this thinking must be a closet communist and does not belong in the Republican Party.

These are also the same Republicans who really do believe they can win elections by making sure they alienate every union member in the country.

They predicted that Trump’s tariffs would "wreck" the economy.

Unfortunately, we’ve tried the RINOs' way for years.

It led to a radical and dangerous transformation of our nation, by Barack Obama, one which continues to this very day with staggering ferocity.

Republicans opposing J.D. Vance are cheerleading for a fourth Obama term.

The Democrats contempt for J.D. Vance comes from a far more practical and self-interested perspective.

Mr. Vance resonates with working-class voters crucial to winning key battleground states like Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Wisconsin.

Democratic operatives waging an immediate and massive operation of calumny against Sen. Vance would have been far more impressive and strategic 40 years ago, a time when we didn’t have the internet.

Yes, calling a candidate "weird" is bound to get voters’ attention, but once voters start to look into this, the left is going to wish they’d criticized Vance’s tie selection instead; the "weird strategy" won’t end well for Democrats once a comparison is made.

J.D. Vance grew up poor and went on to become a lawyer, happily married with a beautiful family. He served our country in the military.

He is also patriotic, and volunteers in his community.

You could remove the name "Vance" from the previous sentences and be accurately describing millions of Americans. And that is precisely the trap the Democrats have set for themselves.

Vice President Kamala Harris wants to force parents to arrange for their adolescent children to have gender reassignment surgery; simply put only truly weird people support allowing an eight-year-old to cut off parts of their anatomy.

As Gov. Tim Walz, D-Minn., was so outraged that books such as "Lawn Boy" — which graphically depicts a sexual encounter between two 10 year-old boys — were removed from elementary school libraries, that he proceeded to pass a law making it almost impossible to remove such books from any library in the Land of 10,000 Lakes state.

Gov. Walz also mandated that elementary schools must stock tampons in boys bathrooms at all elementary schools.

Concurrently, Democrats fight tooth and nail to force school districts to teach graphic sex acts to kids in Elementary School, as well as making sure that any boy can shower in a girl's lockers room as long as they are competing against them in a woman’s sports category.

The Democrats avowed practice of delivering fatwas against any American who doesn’t believe that the government is the solution to every problem, or any American who attends church regularly, or anyone with the temerity to resist taking multiple "vaccines" for a virus they already recovered from, is what is actually weird, some would even say "creepy."

J.D. Vance terrifies RINOS and the left alike because they know he is an outstanding candidate for vice president who will help bring forth a second Trump administration that will Make America Great Again.
