Panel: Probe HHS, Asst. Sec. Levine for Transgender Statements

House Republicans are calling for an investigation of the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) to force it to back up its statements about the benefits of procedures to help children transition from their biological sex.

Thirteen members of the Committee on Energy and Commerce signed a letter sent to HHS Inspector General Christi Grimm, demanding an investigation into those statements and scientific literature to support the agency's claims.
