The Trump campaign reportedly has requested military aircraft and other increased security measures for former President Donald Trump in the final weeks leading up to the Nov. 5 election.
The New York Times reported Friday that the requests came after Trump campaign advisers received briefings in which the government said Iran is still actively plotting to kill the former president.

Trump advisers have grown concerned about drones and missiles, the outlet added.
Newsmax reached out to the Trump campaign for comment.
The Washington Post reported that the Trump campaign also has requested expanded flight restrictions over Trump's residences and rallies, ballistic glass pre-positioned in seven battleground states for the campaign's use, and military vehicles to transport the former president, who has been the victim of two assassination attempts in the past four months.

The Post reported that campaign manager Susie Wiles emailed Secret Service acting Director Ronald L. Rowe Jr. to express displeasure with the agency, saying it has been unable to provide enough security to protect Trump.
Wiles reportedly said the campaign recently had to cancel a public event at the last minute because of a "lack of personnel" from the Secret Service. Instead, Trump was put in a small room with reporters.
She also said planning for future events is being hampered by lack of sufficient protection.

Rep. Michael Waltz, R-Fla., also wrote a letter to the Secret Service asking for military aircraft or additional protection for Trump's private plane, the Post reported.
Secret Service spokesman Anthony Guglielmi said in a statement that Trump is receiving "the highest levels of protection."
Rowe wrote to the campaign, saying Biden administration is assessing what can be provided.
"Assistance from the Department of Defense is regularly provided for the former president's protection, to include explosive ordnance disposal, canine units, and airlift transportation," Guglielmi said, the Post reported.
The Secret Service is also imposing temporary flight restrictions "over the former president's residence and when he travels," Guglielmi added. "Additionally, the former president is receiving the highest level of technical security assets, which include unmanned aerial vehicles, counter unmanned aerial surveillance systems, ballistics, and other advanced technology systems."
The Secret Service has been under scrutiny over its failures in the shooting that grazed Trump at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, in July.
The Post reported that the Trump campaign has started traveling with additional planes and has put Trump in nondescript planes that do not have his name on the side, as does his 757 jet.
Officials are also taking the precaution of dividing Trump's motorcade at times.
