Earlier this month, from his home, the opulent solid marble Vatican castle, the pope endorsed socialism. Some of it sounded a lot like communism.

While the Holy Father’s message no doubt comes from good intentions, it's sadly misinformed — and dangerous.

Yes, this is going to be another op-ed about the painfully hilarious hypocrisies of the Left.

The Pope has written a new encyclical, "Fratelli Tutti" ("Of Fraternity and Friendship"), which is basically a 70-page letter of his opinions on how the world should be better, especially in the wake of COVID-19.

In this one, the pope tells Catholics that the pandemic has shown us that capitalism and "trickle down" economics doesn’t work, and wealth must be redistributed.

The pope also contends that businesses should be working to eliminate poverty.

He criticized "empty individualism," which is the natural instinct to consider one’s own self primarily and be self-reliant.

The opposite of individualism is "collectivism," otherwise known as communism.

The pope also said nations need to do more to integrate and accept migrants from poorer countries.

Where to begin?

The catholic Church is worth tens of billions of dollars. There are around 3000 dioceses globally, some sitting on tremendously valuable real estate like Vatican City itself which occupies a nice chunk of what would be Rome.

The pope is so appalled that the poor have been left behind by the evils of capitalism.

Is the pope considering selling Church property and art and other treasures?

It's doubtful.

I'm not arguing that Church should sell its property and items of antiquity.

But I am saying the pope is the last one who should be arguing for socialism.

So far, I have not seen Pope Francis open St. Peter’s Basilica, the Sistine Chapel, the Vatican Museum, and the rest of the vast Vatican complex to the homeless of Italy.

Although this pope and the Left will never admit it, capitalism and individualism have enhanced the quality of life — globally.

Study after study have shown capitalism greatly reduces poverty.

By admitting we are all inherently selfish, and that we work harder for our own self-interests (than we ever will for a communal goal), we understand the secret mechanism of the market, free enterprise, and economic growth.

The classroom example is always the best to use when speaking to a Leftist:

A class full of students takes a test.

The teacher decides to implement "communism" to distribute the results.

10 students receive an "A"

10 students receive a "C"

10 students fail.

The result is, everyone received a "C."

The next time there’s a test, how hard do you think all those "A" students will apply  themselves and study?

What do you think that communal grade given out to the class after that test will be?

Widen that out to all of society and — Boom, leftism is annihilated in 30 seconds.

The truth is the Left is mad because the rising tide that comes with capitalism doesn’t bring everyone up to the same level. It’s not fair.

These people would rather us all be equally poorer, than unequally wealthier.

Leftism is a disease, capitalism, even with some shortcomings, is the only way to run an advanced society.

Anyone with a half a brain knows it.
