Even celebrities use dating apps and they have also been disappointed by dates that have gone wrong. Among them is Drew Barrymore, who revealed on Monday during her show that she was once stood up by someone she had met on a dating app.

The topic came about while Barrymore was chatting virtually with guest star Nikki Glaser.

"I went on an app — I think you've been on this app, too — where every guy was a surfer, a photographer, had a dog, and definitely their best friend's kid," Barrymore recalled. "I was like: 'Wow this is like a cookie-cutter. It's like the same thing over and over and over.'"

Barrymore eventually connected with a comedy writer and they had a date arranged, but things did not go according to plan.

"I booked a date with one guy, finally, and then he stood me up at the exact time we were supposed to meet," she explained. "I was like: 'Can't you be a jerk an hour before? That would have been such a time-saver.'"

Barrymore said it was not surprising as it "happens all the time."

"I was more miffed that it was at 3 o'clock when we were supposed to meet. I'm like, 'Just do that at 2,'" she continued, adding that she "felt so stupid."

During the conversation, Glaser wondered whether the date felt intimidated, but Barrymore dismissed the suggestion.

"I think he's just an uncourteous person who has reasons that are completely fine to him but is going about them all the wrong way," she said. "Screw that, Nikki, we got to face the facts. They're just not showing up. It may be personal, it may not be, but just whatever. Let's not fool ourselves in the middle of all of this."

Barrymore has been open about being single in the past and in 2019 wrote of finding contentment on her own.

"I love my friends. I love my children first of course, but this day is just about love period," she wrote on Valentine's Day in an Instagram post. "And if you don’t have it with a romantic partner (I’m single and have not been able to successfully date for almost four years so what do I know you ask?) I believe with all my heart in the human heart."

Barrymore added: "I have fought my way to a deeper happiness on my own, and i love being independent! It just rules."
